Mono Doser

Overview

The Mono Doser is designed for single-shot filling of flexible pouches on a filling machine. The full dose is delivered in one shot, removing the need for a two-stage, two-shot filling solution and keeping the filling cycle short and simple.

A cutting edge within the nozzle means that products containing chunks and lumps do not affect dispensing, giving a clean fill and a reliable seal every time. Volume accuracy is repeatable down to 0.01 mL, with fill rates of 60 or more per minute and volumes ranging from 10 mL up to 2 L and above.

Key Benefits

Clean Fill Every Time

Key figure: Clean fill, sealed every time

A cutting edge within the nozzle shears cleanly through chunks and lumps in the product, so dispensing is unaffected and the pouch seals cleanly on every fill.

Volume Accuracy

Key figure: 0.01 mL

Dosing is repeatable to an accuracy of 0.01 mL, protecting product giveaway and ensuring consistent pack weights.

High Fill Rate

Key figure: 60+ fills per minute

Capable of 60 or more fills per minute, supporting high-throughput pouch filling lines without sacrificing accuracy.

Wide Volume Range

Key figure: 10 mL to 2 L+

Handles fill volumes from 10 mL up to 2 L and above, covering single-serve portions through to bulk pouches on the same platform.

Single-shot pouch filling – no two-stage, two-shot solution required.

Repeatable accuracy down to 0.01 mL.

Fully food safe – suitable for both human and pet food applications.

Reduced Giveaway and Repeatable Accuracy
Modular, Scalable Design
Handling Difficult Products
Optional Nozzle Enhancements

Dosing is repeatable down to 0.01 mL, shot after shot, so every pouch is filled to the same target volume.

That accuracy allows target fill weights to be set much closer to the declared weight, significantly reducing product giveaway.

Over a production run the saved product adds up quickly, so the Mono Doser can be justified as a genuine cost saving against budget rather than simply a capital purchase.

The Mono Doser is a modular design that can be adapted to suit any fill, from benchtop filling systems through to 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and more lanes.

It suits a wide range of filling machine types, including walking beam and rotary fillers.

It also integrates with existing filler controls, so it can be added to installed lines without replacing the control system.

The shearing nozzle allows the Mono Doser to pouch fill products that include gristly meats and potentially bone.

These inclusions are cut cleanly at the nozzle rather than dragging or blocking, so they do not affect the accuracy of the fill.

Chunky and textured recipes can therefore be run on the same equipment as smooth products, with a clean cut-off and a reliable seal every time.

A drip removal option is available at the end of the nozzle to prevent product carrying over onto the pouch seal area.

Steam injection into the pouch can also be fitted at the nozzle, supporting product quality and shelf life requirements.

Both options are specified as part of the nozzle assembly, so they can be added without redesigning the filling station.

How it Works

The Mono Doser comprises three distinct assemblies:

  1. The agitated hopper tank. This is gravity fed and is designed to remove any air pockets or bubbles from the product before it reaches the pump.
  2. From here the product feeds into the volumetric pump, which draws off an accurate volume of the product to be dispensed – this is where the accuracy of the pouch fill is achieved.
  3. From the volumetric pump the product is injected through the nozzle. The nozzle carries a special serrated valve that dispenses the product accurately into the pouch while removing any drips and remaining unobstructed by gristly or otherwise difficult media in the product.
  4. The nozzle can also carry steam injection, or other injection facilities, to inject directly into the pouch at the point of fill.
